This morning some of my colleagues were heading to the bank nearby to bank in their pay checks. When they're approaching the counter, they noticed almost every bank tellers are looking at them with a smiley face. Puzzled, it's pretty much different than usual. When they're asking for the service, they got this reply: "Sorry, the system is down".

Perhaps the only time that employee would feel happy is when they are not blamed for not doing work.

My colleague was just playing Jacky Cheung's popular love song, "Perhaps Love" and he told me that he likes the song very much. For the sake of making him love the song more, I volunteered to sing the song for him next time we go Karaoke box. But he said: "No No, I want to sing".

I wonder if he would still insist if he has listened to my singing before.

Just had the UI designer stopped by my desk and I took the opportunity to ask her if she has any comment on the UI design of this Weblog. She answered that generally the UI is OK but there are still places can be improved, like:
1) Put more colors
2) Try not to write programming stuff because she can't understand most of it

In one of the projects, we store the client's IP address (for audit purpose) as varchar. Therefore by default if we sort them using SQL, "60.1.1.1" comes after "101.1.1.1". Unfortunately we are requested to sort the IP addresses like number, means 60.1.1.1 followed by 101.1.1.1. If you've encountered this issue before, kindly share me some ideas.

Have you tried www.ajaxwrite.com? They're using Java at the serverside and I know this because I just got a NullPointerException while opening my local document.

It is indeed a trivial kind of news to me (and to most IT folks), what really attracted me was the statement given by the representative from Microsoft regarding the delays:

Vista is delayed because it wants to improve overall quality, particularly in security

Does it mean overall quality wasn't initially planned?
