It costs two ringgit for interbank fund transfer when using online banking service provided by local banks. But there is a bank charges you ten rinngit if you cancelled the transaction. Is it weird? Here is the story:
Initially there was no such use case specified for cancelling transaction of online fund transfer, it might due to the software vendor of the bank wasn't professional enough and it's fine, neither the customer (the bank) requested for it. As you can guess, when came to user acceptance test, they happened to realize that cancellation of transaction is critical as there are too many data entry errors. But the problem then was timeline, it was too late to implement that feature unless the bank would willing to pay extra. Finally, the bank has decided to pay additionally to the software vendor for that change request and they also decided to let the consumers (me and you) to bear the extra cost. That's where the ten ringgit comes from. This ridiculous amount of charge will be soon reduced or waived totally right after the extra cost of the "cancel transation" change request is paid off.

Yesterday evening I was asked to conduct an interview with a job candidate in a very ad-hoc basis. I didn't even have time to think about what should I be asking. When I got into the room, the only thing in my mind which I wanted to find out was how well he could work with the existing team members in the company. But, very embarrassed to say that I failed to get the answer.
That wasn't my first time interviewing programmer, but it was indeed the first time I know what kind of programmer the company is looking for. Due to the time constraint, I asked a lot of questions which don't help much in the decision making. In short: I've ruined a good chance of helping the company to recruit good people.
I came to realize that I do need to know a fair bit of psychology in order to figure out the quality of job candidate without doing a technical test.
