Came across the the Top 25 Products of the Last 25 Years picked by eWEEK Labs. Generally the result is quite convincing, except that I can't see a single product related to Java while the product like Adobe PDF is in rank 11.

I just settled my car loans last week, and has become the real owner. I remember when I bought my car people asked me why I did not buy Proton. However, it now seems that I can ask them why did they did not buy Perodua's cars.

I've been looking for more information about the skill set required to characterize a software architect since I read my ex-colleague's post on that topic, to see if I'm already qualified to be in the position. In short, the position is definitely not as simple as the title tells, which is architecting software. It literally requires technical, leadership and even project management skills. Of course, everyone has different definition and I've heard there's software architect doing business consulting and pre-sales stuffs.

The other day while my sister's reading one of my posts, she asked me about the meaning of a term that she didn't know. I told her to click on the link and read the meaning herself. But the reply I got surprised me, she said "then I won't be able to come back to this post!".

Good design shouldn't involve guessing game. None of the commenters (like he and she) of my previous post about scary dialog box know what will happen after clicking Yes without actually clicking on it, and so do I. If I were the programmer who designed that dialog, I'd pretty much like to give user 2 choices rather than asking users if they want to continue on something they don't know.

Do you have a better one? Note that you are only permitted to modify that particular dialog, not previous steps.

Have you ever encountered the customer supports like this and this which frustrates you a lot?

I thought only novice computer users would always choose cancel while they're getting the question they can't answer. Actually the so-called IT worker like me would choose to get rid of the scary dialog box by clicking cancel or no too. Do I really have a choice?
