Maria stuns everybody in the US Open final

19-year-old Maria Sharapova (I see her posters somewhere everyday) beat Justine Henin-Hardenne, the finalist in all four grand slam championship tournaments this year in the U.S. Open final Saturday to add a follow-up championship to her breakthrough title at Wimbledon in 2004. As the commentor said, "we all know you're a Russian, but you're so American today".

Five major credit card companies have teamed up for better security

American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa International announced Thursday the creation of an organization to develop and maintain security standards for credit and debit card payments. It's the first time the five brands have agreed on a single, common framework.
